So, read the first book, Rage and really liked it. So, I skipped to book 3 because I really liked his sidekicks Crash & Gap. But, this book pissed me off & upset me because she killed off Gap just as he found his female....he was so sweet and excited....the whole thing broke my heart. And for me that overshadowed the entire book. I almost quit reading it after that....I mean really, if you are going to kill off a main character, news flash...don't kill off the one everyone adored....if I wanted to see crap like that I would watch the flippin news. So now I won't be reading anymore of this series, I read for entertainment, not to be emotionally spent...not worth it.Product details

I read some reviews that made me want to throat-punch the reviewer, but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if they're wrong *winks*
I have to say after reading #2 and then starting this one right after I wasn't sure what I was setting myself up for. There was a part of the story where something PIVOTAL happens and I wanted to smack Ms. Sax, but I have to trust that she knows her series better than ANYONE, so there is a rhyme and reason for what she writes. Oh yeah and then to find out something I complained about in book 2 happening made me glad I put my trust in her.
I loved that Safyre wasn't anything like Joan and despite her being a bada$$ she had that bit of jealousy smacking her. Crash was the perfect male for Safyre!
I'd forgotten how, umm, dominating these cyborgs can be. Which is an understandable state of mind seeing as how they've just freed themselves from a pretty craptastic existence and they're bred to be strong and commanding. Might as well grab onto life with both hands and all that, right?
Especially once they find the special lady friend who makes all their metal parts burn.
(As an aside, these poor guys are so starved for kindness, it's kinda rough to read. In a good way, mind you. Like, you WANT them--all of them--to find their match and experience some happiness.)
Crash and Safyre definitely clash in the best sort of way. He's protective and domineering, while she's used to being on her own, answerable to no one. It makes for some fantastic arguments and even better make-up sex. Or whatever you want to call it when they use their arguments as foreplay.
I like these cyborgs who are finding their place in this dark, messed-up universe. Here's to plenty more of them meeting their other half.

I have the complete set of the Cyborg Sizzle series.
I use the lure of these stories as a reward for exercising 6 days a week. When one is available, I am diligent about making sure I get my minimum amount of daily exercise. In other words, I really enjoy these stories. The heroes are physically strong but emotionally starved half-organic/half-machine cyborgs who have escaped the tyranny of slavery. The heroines are take-no-cr*p strong in their specialties (i.e. engineering, genetics, piloting) and have no real fear of these emotionless (so they're told) war machines.
This is my favorite of the Cyborg Sizzle series. Not only do we have the sexual love between Crash and Safyre but we see the bonds of love between Crash and Gap as well as a little with Rage. Safyre is a great character who won't back down. Crash is pragmatic; he doesn't enjoy violence or fighting but if he must he does it well. The bad guys continue to improve in their wickedness but I think they've reached their pinnacle in this book. Nymphea - well, I thought she was TSTL so I guess that turned out just as it should have.

SPOILER - Gap dies! Waahhh! I just loved the somewhat oblivious and eager young cyborg.
The Humanoid Alliance is at war with rebels on Tau Ceti and Safyre's friend Nymphia who went there to rescue children, is trapped there between the fighting fractions. Safyre is a pilot with her own ship and contacted Crash under the guise of using his ship because it had the landing clearance she needed to get to Tau Ceti. She didn't know that Crash is a Cyborg until she meets him and finds an automatic attraction to him as they are true mates. My favorite character is Gap, a Cyborg with the enthusiasm of youth and a romantic heart full of the promise of finding his true mate and being a worthy male for her. He is a breath of fresh air despite his upbringing as a Cyborg where most Cyborgs are much more reserved and stoic. Safyre is smart, resourceful and brave making her quite the match for Crash. The only negative I could say was the amount of sex scenes written in the book. I found I was just skipping them to get back to the story line. I came to really care about the characters which made me involved with what was going on in the book.
So.. I really liked the story until we got to the burn part of crash and burn. I read the first two and loved them. I read the rest up to book five. They were good. Truthfully I don't think I will buy number six. I bought the others as they came out to read later. But after this book I cant seem to be able to really invest myself into the characters. I am not going to give spoilers, and others may not be bothered by what bothers me. I guess when I read these types of books I am not going for realism. I am just disappointed the direction this took. For me,I do think I'm finished with the series. Though I still like the first two I will pretend I didn't read this one. My disappointment tainted the rest. Cynthia Sax writes really good books. It was my feelings on story progression that tainted my views. So I am done with this series but I will read other books by her.
